Chile mine rescue - seven lessons on leadership

"Viva los Chilenos" was scrawled in black texta on a piece of white paper and saved back to eye level-four wheel drive. I was wondering who owned the vehicle I passed this morning I got back after a breakfast networking in my suburb of hometown of Perth, Subiaco in more isolated city in the world?

This only motivated to write such slogan put the public and what can I say?Came news of radio, "the last 33 minors to the Chile had been rescued" and a chuté.Il penny was a message of hope.

August 5 accident when San Jos? copper-gold mine, near Copiap? (Chile) collapsed, leaving 33 men trapped deep underground and their dramatic rescue 69 days later captured the attention of the world.

It is the story of the year with its long, press drawn drama and ending the fairy tale.

Thus, what are the lessons of leadership, we can learn from the disaster?

What this means in terms of lead and motivate other stressful circumstances difficult and demanding?

1 Leadership is optimism and orientation

A focus and future-oriented are a critical leadership character.

Optimism is a savante.Cette jurisdictional competence is essential for a disaster.

Survival would be the first direction with the trapped miners.

2 Leadership is goal

"" We're trapped, we are fortunate to be living up to what we do now? ".would be the thread current according to traverse the spirit of minors after the first shock of survival.

To counter the boredom, organized minors themselves into three groups for eleven years.

These groups undertook then perform and example tâches.Un was clearing the wreckage from the tree during the rescue operation.

A sense of belonging is important for the morale.

In the case of minors, it was important that they have something that would have had their minds off of being trapped underground.

4 Leadership is to maintain the energy and effort

It is important to break down tasks into manageable activities and maintain momentum.

In the case of minors, the tasks were important to break the boredom, to create routines and have concrete results.

In the Chilean example, including making latrines, requesting items upwards as hand antiseptic, washing and disinfection and organize a timetable for making contact with the families.

Because there is no natural light, light fires during the day and the wide night has helped to strengthen this cycle.

5 Leadership is to be visible

To a disaster, we turned back and look at our leaders.

This is why we saw the President of Chile so and even the President of United States made a statement when minors were rescued.

"Chile is the country same plus.Le Chile is more United and stronger than ever and I think that Chile today will have the greatest respect and be appreciated throughout the world, said the President of the Chile as miners rescued."

6 Leadership is to show empathy and compassion

The company expects that the leaders to cares about the well-being of those affected by the disaster.

Always focus on the human aspect of any disaster first.

7 Leadership is to take control and communication

When a crisis hits many people are frightened and confused.

Leaders must reflect the sentiments of the wider community and act in the best interest of the société.Nous want to control and be decisive.

In times of crisis, leaders are judged by what they say and what they do.

What they say, it is important because the words and messages have a huge impact in this moment of time.

The content is essential to match the serious context of the message.

Symbolic acts by leaders will mean much.

It is not "merely symbolic" act when President along the first minor to be saved.

This is a powerful Act because it communicates the concern and importance.

"It was a blessing of Dieu.Mais began as a tragedy possible.Mais unity, faith, commitment, loyalty, solidarity expressed by the Chilean 69 days we filled with pride."

Miracles for Chilean minors

For those who arrived in and seen the end of the Chilean mine rescue you might think the rescue was a miracle. You may have heard that they should rescue take 3 days and were happily surprised at 22.5 hours it took to make the first by the last minor surface. Covered television happily minors, even spoken a bit of their lives. When you read about some of the miracles perhaps you realize wonders how many still occur.

700 000 tonnes of rock had collapsed in the tunnel. A team was near the surface and they left. It took 17 days before a drill reaches the part of the tunnel where minors have been hope be 2000 feet underground. Rescuers were stunned to find a note attached to their drill."We are in the sanctuary, 33.".Hoping to find a few who have survived, it was a miracle to find all 33 were alive.

It should be a day before he would voice confirmation. It was lunch time when mine collapsed. Thus, most minors collected instead of being réparties.Deux who were returning to work, stopped to look at small White Butterfly, which were to be part of the tunnel is collapsed. Thus all 33 survived the initial collapse in a framework of miracles.

Their main area was about the size of a living room. Some are diabetic, have high blood pressure and aboveground people expect to see their barely hung but their State of health has surprised any.

33 Men had 2 days worth of food with them. Each ate a few spoonfuls of food per day to keep them alive and sustained. They drank water heaters of various vehicles used in the lower parts of the mine.ainsi, 33 men survived 17 days on 2 days worth of food.

Soon, the rescuers had above 3 holes of small hole drilled for minors, giving them food, water, air and communication. Family members have the option of minors to survive and even miracles had practically ceased. After much planning with engineers, drilling and other evasion earlier was scheduled for November, with a most probable date of "just before Christmas."

Three machines were implemented to race to save the children. Plan A and Plan B is entered into action, as a man with the United States flew from Afghanistan. He is known as the best of the best on the machine, also called plan B and 33 days he broke into the tunnel where minors were.Pressure too and it could cause more problems in the tunnel where minors sont.66 days after being buried 20 underground football pitches.

Three days later the real rescue begins. Fenix, translated as the great mythical bird Phoenix flame rises or falls in this case. Each trip with lowering, loading lift and lowering should take one hour. Given that some rescuers go to verify the health and mental soundness of minors, they expect the transaction to take days. Minors were sent by NASA to help prepare food.

They are carefully strapped in, more physically and mentally fit go first of all, where there is a problem.Fainting may be fatal, so that they are in special combinations to help. When a person is, the blood pressure drops away from falling on the ground that the blood is able to return to the brain. In the Fenix this is not possible. The ability to capture the Fenix or simply less collapse rocks walls could cause problems énormes.Pourtant, as if he miracles are too few rescues takes place in as little as 25 minutes.33 Hours 22.5 minors are on the surface.2 hours more brings up the last of the rescuers.

Minors are surprisingly apte.Un pneumonia and some dental problems were tous.Et although some psychological problems to be underground long ago, they are bien.beaucoup are expected to return home within two days, held only for viewing .the Chilean mine collapse is a beautiful story full of miracles.

The miracle of lunch and a butterfly, 2000 feet below terre.Le miracle food for two days a length of 17 and minors not only survive but be surprisingly santé.Un burial waited four months lasting slightly more than two mois.Cette history can only serve as a reminder that miracles happen yet.

Congratulations to Chile - human spirit and triumph in his glory - miner rescue

HOORAY to the Chile success in rescuing 33 trapped miners dropped a mile underground more than 68 days. This show that the rest of the world? It shows that the Chile is a large country with great people, a company that refused to let these minors perishable and spared, toll-free to ensure that rescue efforts were successful. In fact, they went to the United States to bring the expertise, technology, and know-how to save these brave miners and hardened with perseverance and strength of character was awarded the.

As Americans have watched on television and have applauded the human spirit and we are so incredibly humbly before the intense vision and faith in the Chile and his people by this whole episode, IEA, they taught us how valuable each human life is. They have stuck together and they refused to surrender or to nature. The people of the Chile is great, they are proud, they made by this great earthquake and they showed how difficult, they are the monde.Je am impressed - Chile is great!

Of course, we know that Chile is great by the way in which people support their soccer teams. They play to win, and there is no doubt in the mind of anyone now that it is the human spirit which enabled them to win this sauvetage.Bien that personally, I do have some knowledge to Chile, today, I celebrate with them for all they are and what they have built in their company. It is surprising that this incredible adversity can test the soul and the strength of men, but when you look at that strength to persevere and win, you know, there is something very special in progress.

Perhaps we can learn from these great Chilean minors and determination of the Chile the challenge and make it happen - we can learn from their work team, skills, and promise to those who need it. Rescue workers have easy look and juvenile brave to is proven difficult to what extent are the Chilean.

"They got the stuff", they were brave and difficult, and is the reason why the United States has an agreement of free trade with the Chile. They are like us here in America, they are so much like us, and they are quite an impressive group of people. They have saved these minors because they had the desire and the force.Chemin to browse Chile!

Panic and anxiety attacks - Chile, San Jose minor rescue

The doctor of concern for the welfare of minors after their poignant event extended after becoming trapped in more than one thousand three hundred feet below ground which was as close as they could get as close to the death of experience to be rescued and brought to the surface by brave volunteer experts minors and medical personnel. With this, their most poignant test being trapped underground now behind them, began a soft surface. Apart from regular checks for the coming months as they are nursed back to health, they will be guided by their adjustment to life on the surface as well as on life after the event. This can be a psychological difficult period with the medical team focus their attention and diseases that may offer their conditions that can have their front sides stress the incident.

Underground miners, difficult confined working experience will be bonus using their recovery alongside a large team of professionals available at their disposal to help them on the road to recovery.Unfortunately, as other professions high pressure, they may not seek assistance due to a misconception that was part of their job description as a danger that they chose to wear and would thus not need assistance to the management of the State or the rétablissement.Elles can be silent and forums to deal with the pressures of the job thick skin and feel they need not so many help and attention as expected.

Flashbacks happen most symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder becomes more evident to all minors who were piégés.Le redistribution in normal life can be disturbed as reality and the extra burden of becoming public figures during the night comes to light. Their lives must pass through total recalibration.

Survivors of the experience of death, particularly bear the precarious conditions as long as men have faced other problems adjusting to a normal life and suffer from becoming publicly known figures of the day to the next.Underground experiences before their rescue will be overshadow the rest of their lives as a memory of despair and isolation, buried fingerprint live without hope of rescue. They crossed a very difficult period where they maintain their mental health and a sense of hope before and during the rescue.

It is an extraordinary tale of survival in conditions of high humidity, air quality, poor lighting, poor nutrition, gum disease and risk of other infections are only part of the conditions that they affrontaient.Le trip until the surface was also not without effect on those courageux.Confiné men in a small rescue module, they would have been under extreme pressure and anxiety created by claustrophobia ride back to the surface full of risk and danger.

Today, we are all Chileans - a simple lesson important Chilean miners rescued

I am exhausted.

I don't mean eyelids-are-drooping-and-I-have-to-find-a-place-to-put-down-my-body tired. A cold shower will be worthless. Shut additional eye or energy drinks will send this conditioning fatigue. This fatigue condition mental, emotional, drainage soul feels deeply into spinal osseuse.Son right-of-way frosted effect of stifling the heart and - more dark lonely time - feels like a virus spread by the spirit.

Why would such an optimistic because I will I serve as such a burden? I am not sure. I still have some theories. There is no age; There are a few things that I would prefer to reverse, but it was no big deal, "comes with the territory," as they say.My marriage is formidable, merci.Je pay my invoice and, especially in light of today's economy, I am incredibly grateful for this. Therefore, if forced to put the end money, I would wager which touches me more is the State of speech in our great land - particularly in politics.

I've never seen our "leaders" (quotation marks required) Act with such a prevalence of behaviours boorish, puerile, nombriliste.accordé policy is rarely a disinterested occupation filled with courageous individuals, based on principles, altruistic ready to sacrifice great bon.Encore career political discourse today, formerly noble and eloquent, degraded the one heard between bullies in a kindergarten sandbox.

"You're a stupid head."

"Thou art a dumbo face."

"Nuh-uh."

"Bin-so!"

"Stupid head."

"Dumbo face."

The words are not accurate, but the attitude is spot on. Nothing is done. nothing changes. Worse still, without support, even the status quo cannot hold, it deteriorates. Wars continue. Economies is faltering. Planet hurts.People suffer.

Yes, I am sure that is why I feel so boring. I know that I am not alone.Worse still is that all infected by apathy, merit the plaintes.Vie sucks.Rotten job.The weather is poor.It is too windy. It is too hot.It is too foggy.Blah, blah, blah...

As I write these lines, the miners trapped 70 days in a Chilean mine are being hoisted, one by one through a narrow tube of half a mile underground on amorous embrace a world enrapt, family and amis.Plus details emerge.but this we know: to survive, they supported, encouraged and seized the autres.Dans each place literally as close to the hell that all human beings have always existed, their best Angels holding forth.

Florencio Avalos, the first to emerge, got out of the cage of wire that earned him inside, the world was Chile. We felt the embrace of his wife and the relief of his enfant.Nous've cried tears of joy as he breathes fresh air for the first time in more than two mois.Nous shared the bear hug with Chilean President Sebasti?n Pi?era; and our chests increased with pride, while the crowd chanted "" Chi-Chi-Chi! Le-le-le! ""With the emergence of every man, 622 m beneath the desert of Atacama, we voluntarily have experience again and again and again.

It does get old step.

The tragedy has increased hope, like Phoenix capsule in which minors rise.

We need to receive a reminder - I know what to do - to be more grateful for what we avons.Personnellement, I could not as the fog, but at least I can hold the hand of my wife and walk freely inside that I choose.
